I just received my J9, and it looks very nice both optically and mechanically. I was not able to test it with film though; that will be a thing to do this weekend.

My question is: does it make a difference if I test it on a Zorki 4, a Fed 2 or a Canon P (all LTM-cameras) on the one hand or with an LTM-2-M adaptor on a Bessa R3A, Zeiss Ikon or Leica 6TTL on the other hand ?

IOW, if it's ok, on, say the Canon P, will it also be ok on the Zorki 4 and Fed 2 ? And if ok on the Bessa, also on Zeiss Ikon or Leica ?

Thanks,
Stefan.

not necessarily... the fsu camera and lenses are made to work with the zorki/fed cameras.... the canon p may need some shimming for it to work well..

my j9 (currently on sale) fitted well on the fed and zorki but required shims on my leica IIIc which came with the lens.

Test it on a Zorki or FED, it's what they were intended to work with. Leica standard is fractionally different and for the shallow DOF on a J-9 it will matter.
