Jammed up M-6

Hello, I have a M-6 that I have managed to jam up while loading film. Neither will the shutter release nor will the film advance work. I've tried such things as turning the rewind lever to R and opening the back to turn the take-up spool and spin the sprocket axel trying to fool the gears into letting go.

Any advice you could offer would be appreciated. Having a screwed up Leica is very much as uncomfortable as a screwed up PC.

cut the film out carefully. DO NOT MANAGE to cut the fabric shutter. take it from there.

I have done that with IR film in a changing bag. Put the film can in backwards while in a hurry. Cut the film off the take up spool and then rewind it...

Guys, thanks for the advice. The camera is empty and still jammed. I've contacted Sherry and am sending it for repair. The camers is something like 26 years old, so time for a CLA anyway. I may have broken a gear- who knows until it's taken apart and inspected.
