Hey All...

I dont know if you guys have seen this guy's work before but I thought it was great.

The subject matter is that of children and their imagination/fantasies. The poses and compositions are so simple but so creative. Definately worth a look.

:D

BTW, the site is experiencing quite a huge load of traffic right now (thanks to digg.com) but just refresh once or twice and you should get an image.

Original, for sure.

But in many of the shots I simply can't see beyond what is really there: children lying on the ground. But that's just me. :)

Agree with Jbf and shadowfox- lovely creative, fun work ! Bet the kids had a ball taking part in it. Nothing is diminished by my knowing they are lying on the ground. Very original...

Fun and rather witty I thought.

I struggled for a long time to like work like this as it wasn't aesthetic enough for my liking ( if that even makes any sense?!) Then I realised that its the idea, the concept that its really all about and when its done well I find it very enjoyable.

Remy and Simon, I think one must have a child-like mind to appreciate the whimsical nature of the shots. But then again, I'm easily entertained by simple things :)

Seriously, I think it's the consistency of the photography in executing his vision, shots after shots is the one that impresses me the most.

Will, I guess you're right about the "child-like" mind.

I'm a creative person with a big imagination but I'm also analytically inclined. :) Cubism is great for me. Picasso is great for me. But when it comes to seeing beyond the reality of von Holleben's photos, I'm suddenly at a loss. :)

Like I said... it's me.
