New York January NYC Meet-UP ( possible new uptown location)

Hey I thought you were buying the plustek?? If you are seriously considering the epson then i would save some money and get the v700 and invest in some better scanning holders. The only advantage i see with the v750 is the wet mounting and the crummy extra software

Cristian,

Been doing research. The Epson V750 seems like a good scanner for editing my negatives (major big head ache: thousands of rolls of film), and for the limited edition books I will make as "Art Books."

Been considering getting a Nikon 9000, and there's one right now that's basically unused that I've been considering that would bump out the Epson.

Pretty hard to justify an Imacon because right now its out of my price range, but I'm grasping at how to justify and most utilize one, especially since wet printing becones and for me is the best presentation of my work.

Cal, if your thinking ahead in to march can you have the meetup after the 13th? I should be back in the states by then. I vote for harlem public for the march meetup.

Pro-Mone,

Thanks for the heads up. That peanut butter burger was mighty good. It's still early, but we'll save the date. Generally because most people are lazy slackers like me we put things off to the end of then month anyway, unless there are holidays.

How's that Rollei-fever? LOL.

I have a tale to tell about the rollei-fever :D ;). I'am going to keep it quiet until we meet again. Lets just say it's cured......:D (john please keep quiet about this. I want to see Cal's face when i tell him the story)

Pro-Mone,

At this point I will have plenty to do just to utilize a loaded Mac Book Pro, the Epson 3880, a Quadtone RIP printer Driver, and eventually a Color Munki.

I have to learn digital post processing and either LR4 or Photoshop, then there's the eventual transition into Peizography.

Give me a year or two to obsess. With me a lot can happen in a year or two. Also know I'm doing some other crazy things that have high risk high reward. I'm not wasting any time, and I am doing everything I can to live in the moment passionately.

"Give me the smut," I say. LOL.

Cal if your in two minds about the epson you can always come over to my place and give my v700 a test drive. See if it works out for you before you actually buy one.

Thanks for the offer. Recently Andre helped me scan some images for a project.

For me wet printing would be the fastest and easiest. The MM cuts out the need for any scanning. Remember I'm a lazy slacker.

Hmmm, that Leica II hasn't been used yet sir...

True that I haven't put any film through the Leica II yet, but it is being used for the 2013 Beauty Pagant. Right now its a Shelf Queen.

BTW the 35/1.8 Nikkor in LTM I think will get a lot of use on the MM when it arrives. Other than a MD-Grip I think it will remain a small camera.

Cal, will make a mess in his pants once you tell him Pramodh.

This sounds like a good one. LOL. Did you find a Tele Rollieflex and a Whiteface 2.8F kit in the garbage?

Cal

P.S. Even better: you bought the Rollei Wide available from Adorama that was listed as being hazy and simply cleaned the dirt off the rear element to discover that it was a perfect camera for no money.

Patience grasshopper... patience

Nope, because the X100 will be gone. True Christian... I don't have anything impressive. It's been hurting my ego lately... ;)

All I have is this old retro stuff that I bought used and fixed up. Still waiting for my first "New" camera. Starting to get impatient with the wait.
