What is the day, time and place for the January meet-up? Is it tomorrow 1/21?
It would be awesome if the meet-up threads could be edited with this information on the first post at the bottom or top.

So the concensus is that Rochard's low key casual nature caught the Puck Fair vibe of being relaxed, casual, not too loud or crowded...
I had a grilled Pastromi/Rueban with Truffle Parm french fries. The food is a lot better than Puck Fair IMHO.
There is a table as you come in that is about the size of a park picnic table with two benches and a chair at each end. The spacing is such that some at the head of the table can negociate around the people sitting on the bench seats without anyone getting up. About a dozen of us fit so it was kinda like the round booth table at Puck Fair.
Many people I have not seen in a while showed up. It was great to be able to move around easily to mix, mingle and socialize. There was this small printer made by Kodak that is about the size of an I-Phone that was demo'ed. 2" x 3.5" prints.
Christian brought his the 4x5 camera he built. More refined than ever.
So I have to say that I'm no longer the resident crazy of the group: now Christian seems to have taken my spot. "Crazy is good," I say, and Christian is mucho crazy. They say, "Watch out for the quiet ones."
Anyways since Christian is so modest and humble I decided to do P.R. for him and I'm promoting him as the new resident crazy of our group. LOL.

Great seeing everybody yesterday, Rochard's was a nice place and we had enough room.
On a side note when I was paying the waitress she ask about our group I told her we meet
once a month and she seemed impressed with our group ( Hoping we come back I guess).
Great seeing Christian's new camera build and Cal's prints alway's cool and everyone else's
camera's. When I got home I worked on the Rolleiflex and after 3 hour's figured out what
was hitting the gears inside and now have a nice smooth transport action. Today or tomorrow
I'll work on the front section and clean that up! I don't know but I might be as crazy about
these camera project's as you guy's.

Bob,
What I like about our group is that we all are a little crazy. LOL.
You have to know that I would not take apart a Rollieflex. That would scare me, although I did put a Corvette engine in an 84 Jeep Scrambler, so I do have a mechanical aptitude.
I consider you part of the club. Kinda crazy. "Crazy is good," I say.
It does seem like it is all obsessive behavior. Seems to manifest itself in photographers. In me in particular it seems to be printing, and I actually annoy people with it. LOL.
I'll be loading up my "Jersey Barrier" later this week perhaps. Time to annoy people. LOL. I'll be printing with the new Piezography Pro so expect to see those same images printed big.

Maybe you could do a print for me one day, I have one photo I really like
and would love to see it blown up to one of your big print's.

Bob,
Later this week I should have the "Jersey Barrier" online. I have a client, and I also want to see the images I presented at the last Meet-Up printed big.
I also owe Joe some printing for the F5 he gave me.
If I have the big year I'm thinking is happening, I think I will need some exhibition prints. My feeling is that I likely will get one of the ten En Foco Fellowships and will be part of a group show.
My 3880 seems to have many limitations: size, head strikes, ink load, paper handling. I'm tired of struggling when I don't have to. The 7800 only limitation is that it could be bigger. LOL. No struggle from the 7800.
Let me know when you are ready.

For me I happen to fall for women that are a bit crazy. LOL.
Life is kinda complicated partnering with a gal who now is a celeb and Fashion Blogger with 290K followers.
Earlier this month I met a deadline for applying for a fellowship. At the Meet-Up I found out from Philippe that En-Foco has been around since the 70's and are actually a big deal. I did some research and found out they in fact have been around since 1974.
So I don't like all this anxiety, even if good things happen.
Today is another deadline for the New York Times/NYU School of Journalism Portfolio Review. So this month I have not been a lazy slacker, but I found out that all my time being a lazy slacker is paying off because my work and prints speak for themselves. I have a really big body of work that spans a decade and archives NYC since the Credit Crisis and popping of the Housing Bubble that captures a disappearing NYC.
These opportunities are kind of the follow through of the December "Gallery Workshop." I'm beginning to try and put myself and my work out there, its a bit scary and overwhelming. It was much easier to be just a lazy slacker and just concentrate on my work.

I hear ya... luckily moving to Chile and photographing here has given me a great reason to be lazy again...
Eventually I will edit my NYC stuff as well. I'm getting there... looking at my old books from NYC, there is plenty to chop out, but I still love too many images. My own biggest fan.

John,
Time is your friend. Pressure is B.S. It takes a lot of time and commitment to build a strong body of work. In a way it is best not to get ahead of yourself because a strong foundation is just that.
I have found that now I'm in a position of power because I now have an archive. Being compared to Garry Winogrand because of my disreguard to printing is a good thing. Also time is the best editor.
I truely feel that if anything good happens that it could become really big. I just concentrated on image capture, and then I just learned to print well digitally. My prints today crush the ones you have seen. These prints speak for themselves.
I learned from a Navy Seal that their hand to hand combat training involves just seven connected deadly moves. The moral here is drill things home. The training was installed like a reflex, and when "Zingo" tried to slow it down to teach me, he ended up hurting me anyways.
I think I have made my digital printing one of those deadly moves, the film negatives is another, also my street style is evident in every thing I do to the point I can't turn it off.
Now it is time to connect those moves. It is starting to happen.
I'm sure this is also happening to you, but different. Just be you. Be like me and continue to be a lazy slacker when you can. It pays dividends.

Decades ago Donald Trump said, "If I ran for President, I would win." Back then it was very funny, but today it is not so funny.
Anyways I strongly feel the same bold confidence, and I do believe I will be one of the ten Fellowship awardees, and that I should be one of the 100 selected for the opportunity to have my portfolio reveiwed by powerful and influential people involved with photography.
I know that my prints speak for themselves so these opportunities really could be explosive. My life could change drastically.
"Maggie" mentioned Berlin as a possibility. Seems this city is a center for photography as well as fashion. The cost of living is about 25% cheaper. For about 2/3rds my current rent in Madhattan I could have a three bedroom apartment in the city center.
It makes no sense to stay in NYC. Quality of life here is not so grand, and my dollars are worth more elsewhere.
Thanks for reading my rant.
