With the terrible situation in Japan, I find it hard to even think about how people in some areas are coping. My prayers and best wishes continue to go out to all of them.
At the same time, I am wondering how the beautiful cherry blossoms in Spring are this year. Hopefully, the floral beauty of such a wonderful country that is Japan can help many and inspire them to continue as the blossoms return each year. The Cherry Blossoms in Washington, D.C. have become a symbol for remembering the devastation in Japan, and a symbol for hope:

Any photos of the cherry blossoms would be greatly appreciated.

Cherry blossom was out two days ago, here in east Netherlands. The forecast for Japan is here, written in Japanese but the map is clear enough.
Best wishes to everyone affected by the earthquake and tsunami. This years sakura will be especially poignant for many hundreds of thousands of people.

Down here in Okinawa, we are the first to get them. Mostly around January. I didn't go up to our mountain to see them this year (work, busy) and again, my Fortia SP goes unused...doh!

良かったね!
This winter's been quite cold in Kansai, so I anticipate their arriving late. Another 1.5-2 weeks. Ume are already out. And magnolia.

Enjoy Life.
Does Fuji still make Fortia every year for this colorful event?

Kent, the last time Fuji sold Fortia SP was in a limited batch in 2006 or 2007 (forget which). I doubt we'll see it again.
Interesting. I sold my last bit from that period (120) a few months back. That was one saturated film, fun. Then again, I also enjoyed Agfa Ultra on the C41 side.

I've been saving this Fortia for the Sakura which is why I heard it was created. But keep forgetting to use it...

A couple of weeks before the earthquake he posted a photograph that caught my attention because of the cherry blossoms...

I encourage those of you with flickr accounts to make a contact out of Shoji and look at his photos...very very good stuff!
