Ken Jarecke has a youtube channel.

Ken was one of the last generation of photojournalists who worked when news magazines sent a relatively few photographers around the world rather than keeping staff photographers in one or two key positions and relying on agencies, services and photographers local to events for coverage. And he is one of the better shooters from that lucky group. On his channel he is interviewing photographers from Tony Vacccaro, now in his nineties, to young photographers with just a few years of professional experience along with a few publishers, editors and writers.

These are not quick internet interviews heavy on gear and technique and sometimes misinformation. These are hour plus wandering conversations that the valiant interviewer tries to redirect if they start to veer too far off the photographic playing field. They can take the place of the hour long sitcom that is evening tv watching or they can be subdivided into shorter bites. And, while nobody said that a person who was skilled visually was a great conversationalist, you will get useful information of a type that is not often found on the internet - of a type that requires your thought of the overall conversation and eventually your judgement.

One word of warning, episode #26, when it appears, is with yours truly. It’s two friends who haven’t crossed paths in several years bringing each other up to date on their families. Even the skilled interviewer couldn’t get the interviewee to say much of photographic use. Skip it.
