Hi in this period I'm very in love with Jason work(Wonderland, Black Garden), the composition, and the depth but also the gray and controlled highlight, with details in the shadows and the beautiful grain. In many interviews, he says to use Tri-x. What kind of developer do you think he uses? Also, I think he rates his Tri-x at EI 320 or 200, can be correct?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Probably D-76. It is common to rate Tri-X lower than 400. I have never found any developer that gives a true 400 speed with Tri-X. With D-76 most rate it at 320, and my tests show that to be accurate.

Thank you, never use D76 (generally use Hc-110, Rodinal or DD-X) wath dilution you suggest?

I use D-76 1+1. It works great for Tri-X. Rodinal 1+50 does, too...but the look is grittier than D-76.
I have my tested developing times on my tutorial website that you can try.
