Dear Mr Back Alley,
My poor little OMD swims in the Domke F5-XB and I'd like something smaller to hold the OMD and a couple of lenses securely and snuggly!
I note there is a Domke F5-XA (?) that may be ideal and I do like the thrift store styling of the Domkes!
Your advice sir ... and some possible alternatives?

i'm afraid that most of the bags suitable for your exact needs look like purses...

It's funny (and great) that Joe is our official bag-guru. I knew he could chime in when I asked about Retro 10 insert question earlier today.
As for Keith's question, I'd put Retrospective 5 into the mix. That holds a few lenses, including the incoming 25/1.4 and OM-D nicely with minimum bulk.

My wife picked up a really nice leather bag labeled Land Rover (surely they had made for them) that is the perfect size from one M or Barnack, BUT the damned thing looks like a purse. She paid something like $10.00 bucks for it at a rummage sale. I can't possibly carry it, as nice as it looks. I just feel like it would need to have a some lipstick and whatever else it is that ladies keep in their bags (don't ever look in a lady's bag!!!). So, it sits in the closet. Just too dainty for me.

i have a lowepro 'streamline 100'...made for a smaller camera like a fuji x10 or maybe a slim m4/3 and an extra lens...but it does look like a purse...i tried it out for awhile and it worked well...used it for the x100.

Quite true. I will wear pink socks, but I simply can't bring myself to carry a purse. A camera bag is bad enough (my Billingham is almost like a diaper bag). It's not that the purse thing is too feminine for me (though it is); it's more that it's too effete for my tastes.

Sage advice indeed from our bag-meister.
In my F2 which is bigger than the F5, my smaller cameras are snug inside a pocket/pouch (comes with the bag or you can order these separately from Domke) attached to the bag "wall" with velcros.
You probably don't want smaller bag, just a better way to organize smaller things in your existing bag.

I use those purse bags on a belt. They then become pouches without gender and I can attend rugby matches and MMA events without fear of my internal homophobe being awakened.

I have/use a Domke F5XA that fits my G1, 20, 14, 14-45 very nicely. Room in the pockets for extra batteries, SD cards and a bit more. Seems like the OM-D and the G1 are about the same size.

You could do a lot worse than look at a small (or XS) Courierware bag. I have been using one for some years and it seems both indestructible and invisible.

Hi Keith, this is something I stumbled upon while looking for a bag for m4/3 system. Small, cheap, enough "cushion" and can be worn as a belt pack.
The inside can be configured with dividers. Currently I have an EPM1 with Oly 45mm on the left (smaller footprint without EVF); GH1 with Oly 9-18 in the middle (larger footprint); and small flash on the right. The front part has flexible mesh pocket that i put extra batteries in.
Perfect for a walk around bag. Not sure if you have easy access to buy it from Aussie.

If I just bring along the Retina, I have films and filters in there.
If I bring the RF set (body + 28/50/90) it fits nicely
If I bring the SLR (body + 50 + 85) it fits nicely
The newer one even has space for a tablet or other small stuff.
