Canada, eh.
Let me say that I am happy with the positive responses to side chatter on RFF, and Jorge's support of it.

Every now and then there have been posts by members who, I guess, feel alienated by the chat among the more chatty mambers. These posts referred to an "inner circle", a "campfire group", and "the elite".

As one of the guilty chatty people, let me say that the only exclusion here at RFF is self-imposed. IF you wish to "join the campfire circle," all you have to do is post and join in the repartee. Acceptance is guarranteed. Everyone is friendly. As you become better known (through your posting) people will be able tease you too on your particular gear or habits. There is some "in" chat simply because some of us know each other better.

The essence of this post is that everyone is in the "in" group, all you have to do is join in by posting!

Hey, we were all new here once. I mean, I may have 1100 posts, but Frank has 5800. Compared to him, I am a newbie and yet do not feel intimidated 🙂.

I have less posts than either of you and I was here before either of you. I guess I am not a chatty person or I lost a few hundred posts if some of the changes that have occurred in the forum. I'm going to vote for "Not Chatty".

Wayne,
Do you mean that you don't think the forum should be chatty, or that you yourself are not chatty?

It kills me to have to answer this, but I am not real chatty. See, now my post count just went up one.

I'll join in.

I'm a chatty person. I like to talk and, once I feel comfortable, have no problem speaking my mind. That can get me in trouble at times, but it's started some interesting discussions elsewhere in the past.

But while we're on the subject of chatting, how about going completely off topic? I'm searching out culinary schools in the midwest and ideas are always good. 😛

You want chattiness?

Weird evening... We went to see (finally) Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Came back at a bit later than 9, went to bed... and the book I'm reading (War Trash, by Ha Jin, about Chinese POWs during the Korean war) turned out to be too enticing, so I lost my sleepiness. Came to my studio, where Ben, my cat, sleeps, turned the computer on and googled myself.

The things we do when bored...

Then I thought of a silly thread to liven up this forum (some kind of dumb question), but luckily, Frank S found a way to spice up the postings of the night, so here goes my contribution: a tribute to chattiness! 🙂

EDIT: Frank, that's actually the thread I was looking for a few minutes ago! 😉
