New York July NYC Meet-Up

I should be able to make it to the meet up.
Is it still at Puck Fair?

Ben,

I was at Puck Fair last weekend with my gal. About two weeks ago I met your GF with her F3 at B&H. Will she be attending also?

The Meet-Up will be at Puck Fair this Sunday the 19th of July. I'll be there around noon to reserve our spot.

Cal, she mentioned running into you when you were going to B&H.
She should be there with me.
Looking forward to the meet up.

What kind of gear do you have in storage? Your apt wasn't that small!
I don't have anything in storage now, but I'm going to be in Astoria, in a bit less space. I'll have storage for some furniture items, and I'll probable keep some boxes of camera parts, developing tanks, and an extra scanner there. It will be an adjustment.

John,

I have a complete darkroom except for trays in public storage, camera bags, camera and lens boxes.

It seems like East Harlem is rapidly getting gentrified as I see too many skinny hipsters. I even have an art gallery on the next block from my ghettobuster building. You know your neighborhood is getting gentrified when all of the sudden you have two Tai restore-aunts almost across the street from each other.

Over the decades I helped gentrify Greenpoint, Williamburg, Long Island City, and now Spanish Harlem making the banks and real estate developers tonnes of money. Last weekend I checked out the newest section of the Highline. What happened to the gritty filthy city I love? Why are we sterilizing the city? Where are all these wealthy people comming from?

I kinda figured out that I pay a lot of taxes to take care of the poor which I don't mind, but I'm also taking care of the rich by 421 tax abatements on luxury properties that I can't afford.

I figure about three more years and this interesting person who I say is a one man tourist attraction and is one reason to come to NYC to meet will likely leave to roam the planet. I'm really tired of the raw deal, making other people rich, and getting nothing in return.

It is getting to the point where I no longer love this city. Thanks for reading my rant. FTW.

Keep out of Spanish Harlem. The place is rat infested. No lie. Also know shootings and murder is up in my neighborhood. Please keep out.

Haha, I've been going there often lately... just do so in the morning.

John,

I'm not exaggerating about the rat infestation, nor the shootings, nor the murders. I'm trying to maintain a positive mental attitude, and in a twisted way these are good things that are working in my favor. Hipsters stay away-you skinny bitches. Have you been around 125th Street and Lex (6 Train) at night lately?

BTW "Baby-Dog" the 8 year old dog I rescued is already kinda famous in my hood for being a thug even though he is only a little bigger than a cat. He is kinda known as an aggressive dog that basically does not like other dogs, people or noise. There is a group of people routing for him because they know that he is a rescue.

A while back when we first got him he bit my neighbor who thought he was just a cute puppy and went to pet him while "Maggie" was locking up our apartment, and Baby-Dog drew blood. Now he wears a muzzle which amplified his fame. He is getting a lot calmer, but this morning he went after the Super of my building.

Our dog is a head case and we are spending basically a lot of money on a Dog-Shrink. Even though he is getting much better, we were advised that he can never be trusted not to attack other people or dogs. He is kinda anti-social. He has a particular hate of Bull-Dozers, buses, and fire engines. Pretty funny that I live in the worse neighborhood as far as street noise goes.

Cal, I'm sure you are referring to the 2-legged rats that infest your 'hood!

Did you receive your MM2 yet? I will not be able to join you guys at Puck Fair this Sunday, but look at the next one. Cheers, Jean-Marc

Jean-Marc,

My neighborhood from 103rd Street till 116th Street between 3rd and Lex is reported to be one big infestation of rodents. On my block I frequently see dead rats that are "pancaked" into red sponges. I even see rats during the day.

To get a MM2 I need to rob mucho 7-11's to get the cash.

BTW "Baby-Dog" is so famous that bus drivers make comments that they can see that he is being good today. One neighbor said, "I like his muzzle," as a compliment.
