Just received a Jupiter 11 135mm lens for my Kiev 4 (4M) cameras, am I right when I say that the lens and the focus wheel on the camera should be set to infinity before you mount the lens and also when you remove it.
you probably won't even be able to mount it without having it set that way.. but yeah, it's always a good idea to lock at infinity before changing lenses

Hi Bob, I just answered this question in another thread about mounting a J12. Any of the Contax mount lenses other than the 50mm are best mounted by first setting the focusing mount on the body so that the infinity mark is adjacent to the red dot. Then set the lens to infinity, align the red dots, (body and lens) and the lens will mount smoothly and easily.
Thanks Paul, I have been doing just that and as you say it mounts with out any trouble.
I also check to make sure that the focus wheel also turns when I focus the lens( but I dont use the focus wheel to focus the lens, I find it much better to use the lens itself).
Thanks and have a Happy New Year.
Bob
