Hello rff!

I wonder whether somebody has experiences with the jupiter 11 (135/4).
I got one but i did not yet use it. I am afraid of wrong focussing with my fed3b.

What do u use the j11 for? portrait?

so many questions.

regards
Robert

Hi Robert, I have a Jupiter 11 for Contax mount. I love this lens.

I use it manly for details in nature ou flower pictures.

I made a serie of focus test in past month and I found that my J-11 its ok.

Now I'm using a unexpensive russian generic shadder, a Kazan Universal Viewfinder, and a Sverdlovsk-4 meter.

The meter of my kiev-4M is good but Sverdlovsk-4 give me more flexbility and accuracy.

Using the Universal Viewfinder is much more easy made the picture composition . Is a usefull acessory to buy.

Hi Robert and welcome to the forum! 🙂 I have one in LTM mount that I use on a Leica M. Great lens and very light weight - a terrific travel lens! Attached are a couple of pics at very close to infinity, the violinists wide-open at f4 and the night shot was around f8.

As been mentioned, it makes a nice travel tele lens. Have one of the earliest samples produced (Kiev mount), excellent optical quality and condition. Not using it too often, but it brought me a shot or two I like.

Hi Robert,
I also have a Jupiter 11 (LTM) and use it on my Zorki 1 and Bessa R3a. The Bessa has 90mm framelines, so guessing the 135mm framelines is not very difficult. In my experience this lens tend to flare, so I bought a 40.5x0.5 lensshade from heliopan. Now I use this lens much more often! Because the lensshade does not change the filtersize, I can even use the same filters and the original lenscap.
Have fun with this lens! Not bad for a 4-element-construction 😀

I've got a Contax-mount version that William gave to me.. works wonderfully, but I regret that I haven't used it as much as I should.. I'll need to work on that.. especially now that I can use it on my Leica 🙂
