Any adapter for using J12 on Sony a7ii? This lens has a Contax mount, not screw. I have ordered a Fotodiox adapter for a Nikon S mount, but will the rear element clear the sensor of the camera? By the way, I ordered the adapter for my Nikon 35mm lens. Thanks!

One thing to do is measure the distance from the flange to the sensor, then mount your lens on the adapter and see if it sticks out too far before putting it on the camera.

Also take into consideration any light baffles inside the sensor box that may hit the side of the rear element, so get a piece of something the same size diameter as the element, and slowly insert it into the sensor box to check clearances.

I've got the Amadeo adapter and had a Contax-mount J12. It cleared on my A7S. But I found the edge quality of the pictures unsatisfactory, with a lot of smearing. Even a modern Biogon 35/2 shows a lot of edge smearing on my A7S. Lovely lenses both, but not on the A7 platform in my experience. The general rule seems to be that Distagon-type lenses work better on the A7 platform than the Biogon-type.

Note also that while the Jupiter-12 does indeed work on the A7, it does not fit on the smaller NEX and A6000 series cameras, due to the plastic frame around the sensor.

My ‘modern ‘ J12 screwmount worked fine on my A7. Hope that helps.

Hi, Robert! Would you have any images from that combination you could post for us? I'd be interested to see how that lens--which seems to be quite a fine performer--does on digital.

Cheers!

I just started shooting a J12 (LTM) on my A7 and I'm quite pleased with the results. I'm using it on a Fotodiox LTM-M ring ontop of a Hawk's V5 adapter for close focus.

Check my flickr, I've uploaded a couple shots so far.
