Does anyone here use a Jupiter-12 lens on the Bessa L? I read somewhere that the protruding rear element of the lens would bump into the light baffles in the L. But I just put the lens on and it seems to fit, whether focused at infinity or at near-focus. I haven't shot a roll of film with this set-up yet because I don't want to hurt the camera or the lens.

Any experience with this? Thanks.

Hmmm... I mounted the lens while holding the shutter release on bulb and it doesn't look like the rear element is anywhere close to the shutter curtain. And the meter seemed to be functioning fine. Maybe the later L's are fatter. 🙂

My J-12 is to deep, so it not only touches, it passes the shutter. So putting it on would ruin the Bessa-R.

But I've heard of different versions of the J-12, and some is supposed to be less deep. If so, it's possible that some would work.

I have also read that some version J-12s are more recessed than others. Maybe you got lucky. Ihope the KGB sent the designer to Siberia for making this lens.J-12s do make lovely photographs, just not on Bessas.
