I just received in the mail today a Jupiter-12 35/2.8, complete with factory bakelite case and both caps. I was pretty excited.

Now, I know it's on the ideological enemy, which I lose proletariat-points for, but bear with me, because this leads me to my next question: Does anyone know where I can find a decent, cheap 35mm VF for my Z6?

I'm pretty excited for this lens! Gotta get out shooting with it!

Thought I'd share with you guys. =)

Nice camera porn. Now I feel all dirty. ;)

The FSU 35mm viewfinder is good, the turret finder is excellent. Go directly to Ebay, do not pass go, you will spend more money...

You could make one for yourself out of a disposable camera. If you search the FSU forum for 'DIY finder' you should be able to find the relevant thread.

You might try one of the Japanese "tele-wide" finders. I got one with my Kiev mount J-12 and used it before I got the turret finder. It was, I think, marked "Yashica" but they seem to be fairly generic. Small, decent brightlines, and since there are two frames(tele and wide) you have an aproximation for the J-9. The wide frame seemed to be pretty close to 35mm, the tele frame is probably closer to 75mm.

The tiny Cosina/Voigtlander 28/35 combined viewfinder is nice and clear but quite pricey. It does cover 2 focal lengths though and so I guess the price can effectively be halved if you use both. Perhaps more importantly, it gives the excuse to buy a 28 mm lens...

Watch eBay. I just won a nice little Walz 35mm
brightline finder for under $15.00 shipped...

"Excelsior, you fathead!"

Traveling light, I drop a Petri tele-wide finder (with the two brightlines mentioned above) in my pocket. I have three of these I picked up for around $10 each.

If I'm going out to "shoot on purpose" I recently acquired a Leitz finder, 35mm - 135mm, which works well for me, despite the fact that my brother said it looks like something you peer into peoples' ears with. They can be found quite reasonable in the Bay.

I can easily see myself with a couple of CV finders in the future, but for now, these work and there are other things with higher priority.

I've got a heck of a deal for you. I've been meaning to drop you a PM to see if you want to get together for a Camera&Coffee, (or is that Coffee&Camera?). I have the following home built 35 VF inspired by John Wilton's creation based off of someone else's creation.

For the low-low price of a coffee!

PM me offline if you interested.

Cheers,

Double Post!
Double Post!
hehe...
On the bright side, we don't have camera dealers wearing trenchcoats... "Here man, try this one out; it has brightlines!"
