Today I got lucky and found a virtually new Jupiter 3 50/1.5 lens. I often shoot old LTM lenses on my X-Pro using a Kipon adapter, but strangely enough, I can't get the J3 to thread on to this adapter. The lens threads smoothly onto my old Barnack Leicas, and also it also threads onto my M adapter. Anyone know of an X-Pro adapter that will accept the J3?

I've read somewhere that some of the Jupiters actually have a diameter of 40,5mm, not 39mm. I'm not sure if that is only the SLR versions or the RF versions too. Could that be the case? There is also a very very slight difference between Russian M39 thread pitch and that of LTM that perhaps could lead to issues in rare cases. Can you mount that Jupiter on anything else LTM?

It mounts fine and indexes properly on my IIF, IID, and it fits Canon LTM cameras with no issues. I have also mounted it with no problems on my M cameras with a Leica LTM/M adapter. It also fits my FED S and FED-Zorki cameras. The only thing it won't fit is the Kipon adapter. :bang:

Or better yet, get Hawk's helicoid adapter!
I use one on NEX 5N with Jupiter 3 and works wonders. It also helps if you do the closer focus mod to overcome that 1m shooting distance.

Back to the topic, try start threading a little more counter clockwise than you would normally do. That might help.

I have no problems mounting my Jup 3 on the Kipon adapter using a voigtlander ltm/m adapter. Love the results
