hey guys!

ive been looking at the jupiter-3 for quite some time now, and have a few questions that hopefully you guys can help me with!

1. how difficult is to perform a CLA and add shims - following brian sweeney's guide (i only have a zeiss ikon ZM, no other LTM camera)
2. how well would the LTM version perform on an M-mount camera (with adapter)
3. is there anyone who can make the modifications since i believe brian sweeney and kim coxon are no longer available? (ideally australia, however i would be willing to send it abroad)

thanks in advance :)

I have three of these lenses. From the first day I got them they where taking sharp pictures on my Leica's. They have never been modified by me or by B.Sweeney. Btw if you want to modify them it is pretty simple. The hard part is to acquire the right shims. I thought that Sweeney made them by himself.

thanks ron! theres a similar thread that suggest using cans for the shims, which seems easy enough. my only concern is the checking the focus on infinity, would it be possible to do this on a zeiss ikon zm?

another question, did you buy this lenses off the evilbay or from another RFF members?

I bought the lenses from different sources, one from Ebay, one from local market and one at a camera fair.
If I check lenses ltm or m-mount, I do that on my M8.2. But of course you can do that also on a film camera. I did that once for other reasons, to check the shutter - with one of my Leitz ground glasses, put with some tape to the back of a camera (I have a whole collection of these glasses which were made for the Leica R system cameras). I never had a R camera but use these glasses for my visoflexes.
