just got hold of a great black jupiter 8, nice and sharp, but the filter threads have a very slight dent in them, enuf to stop you treading on a filter. anyone have a quick fix, even if its just enuf to thread on a uv filter?
I have to admit I am a fan of the block of wood method but I can be a cheapskate and it didn't cost anything! I just wish I could get things from Micro Tools at US prices. Those on the German site are a lot more.
I use the tool described in the Micro-tools catalog. I got mine from a different source, but paid a few dollars more. Works great. After you become proficient at straightening (or curving) dents in lens rings, you will start buying lenses that have dents. They cost much less.
