Jupiter 8

Hi guys

I know that this has been posted somewhere but I couldn't find it in the archives here. I have just received my Jupiter 8 (chrome) to my disappointment there is a HUGE piece of black dirt in the lens. I'm not going to send it back coz the shipping is going to cost more than the lens. I'm certainly not going to send it for CLA.

I recall seeing a thread here where someone had written about the steps involved in cleaning / opening up the jupiter 8. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Nick

I got an ID 61 like that. Excellent condition, super clean glass just like the ebay discription said. There just was a kitten inside it. I always as about dust, or about how big the dust is inside the lens now.

If you are lucky, just remove the rear element with unscrewing the rear external bayonet. There you have access to the rear part of the lens, with the aperture blades. Just blow air there, and rescrew the element.
If the dust is behind the front lens, then unscrew the front bayonet that holds it, and do the same thing. Hope it helps.
