Jupiter 8M in M39... frankenlens?

This one really looks to me like a frankenlens, but I'm no J8 expert.

You see... the barrel looks pretty much like an Industar 26 barrel. Any opinions?

I think you're right.

Another opinion: personally, I don't call f/2 "fast". It's certainly faster than f/4.5, but to me anything wider than f/2 is "fast". Relative and subjective, I guess.

It's a J8 from a Kiev married to an Industar M39 mount.

I'd want that .. click stops in the aperture is the one thing I miss on my J8

It is (probably) a Kiev-mount J-8 optical block in an Industar 26 mount. Advantage of clicks-tops (if you like them). Disadvantage is that it may or may not be shimmed correctly, so anyone's guess if it will focus properly on an LTM body!

that's what I thought. It looks nice, but I don't think it would work properly. Besides, I had never seen a J-8 with copper blades; tha samples I know all have black blades.

I have seen several of these on ebay lately, in I26 or I61 mounts. I guess someone has a bunch of old Kiev lenses to get rid of. I would be pleasantly surprised if they have been shimmed correctly.

When I sent the lens for sale, check it only to infinity.
Now I specifically at your request checked the lens at a distance of 1 meter.
