Red Robin
It Is What It Is
My lens is excellent in most ways . Blades are oil-free, glass is clear and mark free. Barrow is nice and shiny and it's a 1959, not real old but not too new. but when mounted on my cameras it is impossible to merge the two images. HELP!

Remove the lens and while moving the focus ring back and forth see if the rf coupling ring is moving in and out..

In what mount is your Jupiter 9?

If it is in Kiev/Contax mount, lens has to be focused at infinity to mount properly. After mounting it, I always move focusing ring all the way to closest focusing point and back.Usually something clicks inside while i am doing it. You have to focus it with the lens, and not the focusing wheel.
If it is in LTM, then it is beneficial to have it focused at closest focusing distance before mounting, to minimize rangefinder misalignment.

Well, well! After all this time! Someone had put on an adapter of some kind on my LTM Jupiter 9 lens! this skinnie black metal thing had kept the lens from coupling. Thanks to you all. Frank
