Just arrived in the mail today. Looks like it's had a productive life in the hands of the previous owner. A real user GIII. Seems to be working fine and viewfinder and lens are clear. Just have to put a battery on it and run a roll of film.

Yes indeed! That Canonet has seen some use!!! Looks like you're gonna have fun giving it some continued use, too! ;)

Congratulations,

the QL17 was my first rangefinder and still is my only rangefinder, for about half a year now. It pleases me very much! Pity mine isn't beautifully black as yours...

I would be interested to get a second rangefinder, but I have trouble finding one that offers the same price/quality (and looks) rate as the Canonet did!

Groeten,

Vic

thanks guys. i bought it quite cheap considering i don't get to see a lot of them on the local auction site i frequent and this was the first black one i saw.

i didn't know it was this small, which is really great. i have a QL19 and a QL25 given by a friend and i thought the GIII was also about the same size. i think i'm gonna like this camera a lot.

any tips from the seasoned GIII users here?

i read the discussions regarding the battery, but it just got me a bit confused. what exactly works with the GIII?

I use the 675 Zinc Air for my QL17 (small) and GIII without any problems.

Greyhoundman does a diode conversion and makes a really usedful hood for the small canonets as well which he sent me with the GIII I got from him ;)
