Poor guy.
Can happen to anyone who does not use a UV filter like a lens hood.

Okay, the beauty of the M6 is the red LED flashes if there is no light, and you can't set exposure.
So what lens was that? Looked pretty big. Not a Nocti - it had a round shade.

The people who shot the video either missed the lens cap as well or they deliberately didn't tell the guy. But judging by the video it seems to me that they deliberately didn't tell, really mean.
But at least he looked good with his watch and M6...

The guy was videoing it for quite a while. Why didnt he go over to the guy and say your lens cap is on. I guess I would of done this cause the guys family will not get the moment back. Sure the guy was a bit dumb, but who isnt. I think a lot of people these days would rather phtograph or video peoples mishaps so they can post on flickr and utube and get famous. Help people out intead of photographing them. This was not a big deal but it could reveal a bigger problem in the digital age, "disconection" Oh well thats my rant, now off I go to work in the rain.

It looks like he's aware somethings wrong, probably due to the LED readout doesn't look like he's ever focused an RF before though.

There but for the grace of ... go I --
Like watching an impending train wreck, he almost turns the camera so he has a chance to see the cap, and repeatedly doesn't
I would not laugh at him. Today him, tomorrow me.

Yea, done that too. One of life's embarrassing moments when it finally dawns on you. At least it was an meterless M when I did it.

Not everyone keeps the batteries in their Leica's. I for one took the batteries out of my MP as the meter distracted me too much.
LOL, thanks. Is that a Noctilux at daylight? I also wonder about the meter reading...

He should buy consumer Nikon P&S.
The good news is protected the lens from airborne dust.

All of us? I dont think so. It never happened to me. I dont wear a camera with lens cap on anyway. I remove the cap when I take the camera out of the bag. Obviously some people dont.
