Not everyone keeps the batteries in their Leica's. I for one took the batteries out of my MP as the meter distracted me too much.

Yeah... I know the MPs the only Leica I've ever owned that even had a place to put batteries 🙂 but he touches the shutter button several times, changes the shutter speed and then looks through the VF again and again, obviously not just re-focusing... I don't think he'd do that if there weren't any batteries in it.

Okay, the beauty of the M6 is the red LED flashes if there is no light, and you can't set exposure.

So what lens was that? Looked pretty big. Not a Nocti - it had a round shade.

on later ones yes, on the early ones if there is not enough light then the meter won't light anything. I thought something was wrong with mine until I did some reading.

I have a "friend" who has done this once ... so now he removes the lens cap puts on the lens hood does a bit of a general check then loads the film...same routine every time.
It was hard to watch .... poor guy :bang:

looks like a ttl so if it's got batteries in it his bemused look is probably him wondering why his led is not changing as he changes aperture.
watch looks like a tag but the battery has been removed so as not to confuse.

It happened to me with 4 or 5 shots when I first got my M4 (my first RF). Now I always put the cap in my pocket. If there's strong sunlight I just shield the lens with my arm or hang the camera from my shoulder that's not facing the sun.

Now, when it comes to forgetting to change the ISO on your Leica Meter... Happened more than once to me :bang:
Actually... I'm going to make sure that it's at 400 right now, lol 😱 luckily I haven't shot any frames on this roll using the meter. I go meterless when possible, never had a problem (yet...)

Well, at the risk of sounding snarky, I'm surprised that the furiously blinking underexposure LED in the viewfinder didn't alert him that something was seriously wrong--unless he forgot to put batteries in, too...
