I mixed up a bit more Caffenol than I needed while developing some film this evening, so I decided to try a couple of prints with it. I used some long expired semi-matte multigrade FB paper (can't remember brand) and gave it a bit of a contrast boost. Developed for about 6-7 minutes. Contrast turned out a bit low, but in general they came out better than I expected. I'll upload some scans when they're dry.

On a side note, Caffenol really reeks when in a tray, at least to a Tea Snob such as myself.

As someone who uses caffenol (usu c-m or c-h) for developing I'm looking forward to seeing the scans! Also interested in your recipe and developing time. I have a few boxes of outdated paper and a $5 thrift store beseler enlarger that are begging for some use...

First impressions - they look great! I guess you would need decent ventilation. I've only tried film developing and that was bad enough ;-)

Ok, here are the scans:

The second one is a bit washed out in the highlights; either the print was underexposed, or the developer was becoming exhausted. I sort of like it better, though. The person for whom these prints were made will be thrilled with both.

Would you mind sharing your Caffenol recipe? This is something I am definitely interested in trying! Thank you for sharing your success and your prints..

Some really good stuff. I just received the supplies to mix some of my own Caffenol C-M based on the recipe from the Caffenol blog. Thanks for reinforcing my decision to move ahead with this.

Nice & clean looking. I have developed a few test strips in caffenol recently (using Kentmere RC VC) and found very low contrast and a strong brown tone similar to sepia ... mind you the caffenol had already had two rolls of shanghai through it, so perhaps not quite the definitive test ...
