have slight buyers remorse now haha...damn that tricky trigger mouse button. I had a slew of nikon lens and I had heard nothing but good things with about this camera...not a bad first DSLR purchase

It has the same sensor as the S3, and it's a great one for skin... I used the S3 for work a few years ago, and it's a great camera... Solid and light! Yet I use it: my only digital camera ever... Enjoy it!

Cheers,

Juan

good to hear! mostly wanted it to help kick start my blog with some tutorials on film use and also have a decent camera for timelapsing

The S3/S5 sensor was one of the best crop sensors ever, it thrashed the pants off the Nikon 10mp sensor in the D200. I had an S3 and if it was not for the blinding price I got a Canon 5d for would still be using it. I only used 2 lenses on her though a Sigma 18-55 2.8 and a Tokina 24-200 for the very rare time I wanted longer, I loved the results with the former. Great call if you have some nice Nikon glass, I wish they made a full frame version of her.

Congratulations, you'll love it! I bought mine a couple years ago and it has been great; excellent OOC jpeg files, minimal post-processing needed, very well built and reliable. I bought a 17-55/2.8 along with it and though I've tried to replace that lens with primes but it is in general better optically and also lighter than the three primes I bought. I know you have Nikon lenses already but this mid-range zoom is worth looking at. Enjoy your S5! 🙂
