Hi guys,
excited about this little camera (looks like it will become my fav), did a quick video comparison with the GF1 (and to show size with the 7D set up for street shooting), planning to use it mainly for street. just uploaded, might not play in HD yet..direct link

Many thanks for the review - very helpful
Just a quick question - does either camera have an “in focus” confirmation indicator, (a green light on my D300), to confirm that the image is in focus when using non AF lenses.

Best wishes

No focus confirmation, it works like a ground glass on a TLR...focus by eye until it's sharp, under magnification if necessary.

thanks guys, glad it was helpful. quick update, I really like it, very nice image quality, I will take it with me when I absolutely cant take a dslr, the image quality is def pro level. the shutter lag is annoying and af is slow, but I will survive. the only way to use it for street is prefocus on a wide angle, high iso, high aperture, no chance to capture the shot with af

It shouldn't have any shutter lag if you have your finger half pressed on the shutter before you click. If you just jab the shutter it will have a little bit of lag, but all olympus digital cameras "prime" if you half press and then click - and it's pretty much instant. On my e-p1 it's probably slightly quicker than my DSLR.

That's what I thought, but there is indeed a quarter-second lag. Becuase it's live view, the shutter is already open--it has to close, then open, then close again, which is why the shutter sound is oddly "complex" sounding. It's plenty quick for me, though.
