No I havent done any meaningful test.The way I use my RD-1(amateur)I shoot usually with a one gig card that gives me 100 shots raw then I change the card and the battery.
In the early days we had a lot of discussion about 3rd party batteries and if they may damage our RD-1 cameras.I dont think they do.I will say the way i use batteries the epson ones continue holding charge whereas the third party ones need replacing .I usually use my 2 epson batteries for shooting the other 2 as back up and if I am away from home the generic ones are good for editing at the end of the day whilst the main set are charging,

sorry steve, i should have quoted idea dog as his 'humour' was confusing to me.
i have 2 epson batteries and 2 off brand batteries that are intended as back ups. they are rated at 1400 and seem to work ok, so far.

My apologies for the confusion. I was just being a smart aleck. However, I've used both an Epson battery and a generic and noticed no difference in performance.

Also, I wonder if the number of milliamps listed on labels is accurate anyway (for off brand batts especially).

no problem.
i wonder the same thing about the accuracy.

and to show my lack of knowledge in this area...what would be the difference in performance or longevity with a ma difference?
