Just got my Zorki 4, two minor problems...

I just got my Zorki 4 from the FSU today... Looks great and it came in the orginal box... I love these camera sellers from Ukraine. They never tell you when the send, but the cameras always come impeccably packed and always almost 100% as described...

Two minor problems though. The apeture ring on my Jupiter 8 is off by like two stops. I can't turn it to f22, but it turns past f2. Is this something I can fix in the lens?

Also, the rangefinder is blurry making it hard to focus. I can barely see the images to get them to line up. (it doesn't help that the rangefinder is dim to begin with) Is this something I can adjust easily?

I figured out the rangefinder problem (duh!). I just need to adust the diopter... I'll try and fix the apeture ring next...

Believe me - happens to almost everybody when handling a Zorki for the first time...

This should be in the Fed & Zorki faq. The diopter adjustment is just way too easy to change.

Quick aside, the gentleman who sold me the Elmar 90/4 had a IIIg forsale, and had one sneaky dishonest bugger who came to check out the camera, change the diopter and then claim that there's something wrong with the camera, and asked for a discount.

These were the two identical questions I wanted to ask as I receive my Zorki 4. 😀

Jupiter 8 can be took apart by turnning the lens rings (focusing and apeture rings) anti-clockwise, the off apeture nos. is caused by not proper turning the rings into right position only. :bang: All you need to do is to apply little force turning the rings clockwise will fix it. Now every alright with my Jupiter 8. 😉
