The VC meter looks much nicer on a classic camera. I think if I had a Nikon F, I'd just use the Photomic finder. It was made for the camera, is coupled to aperture and shutter speed, gives TTL readings and the meter needle is in the finder. Yeah, its ugly, but so is the Reveni meter 😛

John, have you posted any pics made with the Instamatic lens on your Leica? I'm curious to see them!

Chris, my father-in-law was a camera buff and sometimes did some photography. He had an F with Photomic finder/meter. I couldn't believe it really worked in 1963~.

Here is a disappointing shot with the highly revered 104 lens. I was disturbed because it wasn't that bad (I guess I wanted something funky).

After that shot I open up the aperture to get something I had in mind:

Thanks for showing those. The first one is about what I'd expect. About 20 yrs ago, my mom found her old Instamatic. It wasn't the 104; I think it was an X15. Anyway, the local camera store had a few rolls of 126 film they sold me cheap, and the stuff was actually in-date (but almost to the end)! I shot some pics of my son with it. He was 3 or 4 at the time, and snapshots of my kid seemed like the perfect thing to do with an Instamatic. They looked just like your picture of the car. Same look...rather good for a fixed focus probably single element lens.

That one of the barbershop is AWESOME. It glows so much it looks like a barbershop in Heaven 😀

I haven't used it for a while but like you I have my IIIf ready to go so I may give it a few frames. That set up is a Leica LTM to a Pentax Screw then a Pentax screw to a T screw. Goofy but it all fit.
