one of the 'bad' things about film cameras...you have to finish the roll before you can see the shots!!

i have a few shots left in my x-700 and really am looking forward to seeing whats on there!

so tomorrow, i plan to head out with the 35 and 100 and not come home till i finish the roll.

I usually shoot enough that I don't have that problem. My issue is that working fulltime now means I often don't have time to develop the film immediately. I just developed two rolls I shot a couple weeks ago. Hated waiting that long!

i dislike paying for processing...same cost for half a roll as a full roll.

I used to feel the same but don't worry so much any longer. If I am in no hurry then finishing the roll is not an issue. But if I have some important images on that roll I want, I often find I will end up finishing the roll taking pictures of things I am not really interested in, so in effect I paid for developing half the roll anyway. 🙂

If I am only doing a test roll then I will usually do some testing images like shooting into strong light trying to see how flare resistant my lens appears to be, shooting brick walls to evaluate distortion, make shots using various zone focus settings at different apertures to get a sense for how a particular lens responds to zone focus. These are things that are useful to know.

I just finished using one roll in two different cameras, it was a 24 exposure roll, 12 from the
Olympus OM1n and the second half was in the Nikon F3 will drop the roll off tomorrow
or Monday, but the Minolta X700 is a nice camera and the lenses are great as well. The
pictures should turn out great.

Oh man! You think that's bad?
Try shooting half frame. With the small VF camera I can get 75~78 shots on a 36 exp. roll, and a easy 72 on the Pen F reflex.
Sometimes I short load from bulk but that uses up 4 to 6 extra shots for a blank leader and tail and I'm so cheap that bothers me.
