true north strong & free
just got off the phone with g'man and yankeedoll.

sounds too much like fire & brimstone on iowa.
they have had some bad weather, lost power, water etc. a tranformer on their street was blown right off the pole.
lots of lightening and flooding.

so they are slowly get things back in order but have no computer/internet yet, word is maybe tomorrow.

dave wants all to know how much he appreciates what we have done, especially for his moses.
with tests running from 100 to 400 bucks and shots at near 90 bucks a pop, the vet bills are quickly adding up. he hopes to know if the shots are working by the end of this coming week, after another blood test.
his second of six greyhounds is also sick, they are thinking her thyroid might have shut down. seems it never ends...

anyway, he just wanted me to pass on his greetings and thanks and to say he hopes to be back on the board soon.

Dave - Greyhoundman - has made an enormous contribution to this forum and is simply one of the best. All of us owe him a huge debt of thanks and love at a very difficult time.

Hey Joe- Thanks for the update. Dave is a good guy and goes a long way to help the rest of us with our aging cameras.

If I recall correctly, he and sue are involved in Greyhound rescue. For me, this speaks volumes about where their hearts are.

If you talk with them again, Joe, please tell them hello and good luck.

Thanks- Bob

Great guy who is always willing to help. I dont know how many cameras this guy has revived from the dead! Goodluck with the house and dogs, living in Florida I have hurricane season to look forward to....😛

Nice touch Ian. (pun intended)

Just to point up "Dave's" generosity, he spent the better part of a day last year, online with me, posting images of what to look for in the guts of an old school QL17.

The camera survived the "tele surgery" as did I, thanks to Dave's gift.

We email now and then to stay in touch and it's always cool.

Gentlemen, and Lynn,

I am very glad to hear from Dave and can only say our/my thoughts are with him.

I cleaned things up here a little, no need to have anything distract from the point intended by Joe's post. Thank you all for addressing things conversationally till my entry.

Wind that were strong enough to rip transformers from light poles? Touch wood that everyone is one piece and hopefully things get back to normal soon.

it was struck by lightening.
dave said it was the worst lightening storm he had ever seen.

he went outside for a smoke and his hair went straight up, he decided to go back in and 20 seconds later - bam - about 100 yards away it hit.
went on for hours he said.

the dogs were none too happy about it either.
