Getting it from KEH.
This one does not have the wrinkled curtain that is so common with this model.
Will mainly use the Voigtlander 15mm lens and will probably get a 35 and 100mm Canon lens for it.

Enjoy! I love these cameras. Get the 100 f2 or the 3.5 if you can, the 100/4 isn't much to write home about.

fwiw - the wrinkled curtain typically doesn't affect function... that said, I do wish mine were unblemished. :D

"Not another one!!!"

niiiice...

As I was placing the order I kept repeating to myself "I don't need another camera".

Obviously it didn't work.

Let's see...what can I sell??

great camera!

if anyone is interested, i have a store bought professionally made photocopy of the original p manual.
p.m. me if you are.

It's hands down the most underrated RF IMHO. Congrats.

I had a chance to play with one today and fell in love with it so I ordered one.

I just got the UPS shipping notification and will have the camera in hand Thursday 12/14.
That will give me the chance to give it a once over before taking it out this weekend for a test run. :) :) :)

Congratulations! It is a beautiful, well made and reliable camera. I would say, it is money well spent, on your part.

I use my Canon P on my VC 25mm lens. It came with a 50mm lens, when I bought it. The lens needs a CLA, though.:(

I went to a camera show last Sunday, to see if the Canon P I had seen last month, with 2 lenses for $400. 00 was still available. The dealer selling it, was not at the show.

There is always a 'next time.' :)

Is it here yet????????? :D

I had Andy Yue's (Solinar) Canon P in my hands when I went to Austin, TX. It's a beautiful camera that has nothing to envy a Leica. Good purchase! :)

From time to time I ponder turning my 2 VI-T bodies into a Leica body. Then I wake up and wonder why I would want to trade down.

hope you enjoy it.

I had one that I sold to a person. The best one I had ever seen. The person said it was damaged in shipping and returned it to me. Now I have a beautiful P with a ding. Makes me sick. I think that person did the damage. No way to prove it.

Need a case for it?

He probably dropped it when taking it out of the box.

Thanks for the offer but I never use a case. They get in my way.

The Canon arrived this afternoon.
I've been playing with it and really like the feel of it.

A couple of questions though:

(1) Do you have to cock the shutter before changing speeds like the Leica screw mount models?

(2)Will a J-12 fit without touching the baffles?

The parallax correction is a big plus over the Leica screw mount cameras and the Canon's larger view/rangefinder is a lot easier for me since I wear glasses.
I just may have a couple of Leicas up for sale soon.

I'll be taking it with me tomorrow to Mineral Wells State Park for a day of shooting the cliffs.

The camera was listed as bgn but I would rate it better since it only had a few minor bright marks and one tiny ding on the side of the top plate..

#1 - no
#2 - don't know

congrats on the p, they are a great camera.

Thanks

I've already found it easier to use than my Leica screw bodies. It's more like using the M-series.
