Canon LTM Just ordered a Canon P

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Rogue_Designator, Have your ever tried the f4 Canon 100mm. They are 50+ years old. And as anyone knows women and lens have characteristics that only improve with age. My 100m Canon is soft, with many subtle contrasts, and seems to appreciate being used.

j 12

j 12

I had two J12 on my canon, first was silver one and I really didn't like the sound it gave when focusing the other was blk made in eighties and it was really good for me until I got canon 35/2/... so when buying J12 the rule is go for blk ones /newer lens.

good luck with new body

I have used it - but it's a bit too soft for my liking. And f4 is a bit too slow for most of my useage as well. I plan to replace it with either the 85/2, or 100/2.

I found 3 original Canon film cassettes today for this camera. DAG had 3 left..now he has none..

Most people recommend buying the white/silver older versions. Other than the sound you mention is there any other reason you prefer the black ones?
I have both in Kiev/Contax mount and both are equally good performers.

More than likely a simple CLA will cure the "sound". Fairly common on FSU glass.

I checked several slvr and several blk lenses, and most slvr lenses had a tad bigger rear element that prevented to focus the lens, blk ones have this element a bit smaller and they usually fit canon without problem. Check every lens if it mounts and focuses through whole range.

I bought a black 69xxx version last night from grizzlybear. Hopefully it will work with my Canon P. If not I'll have to use it on my Leica III's
