The Gossen would require installing 2 diodes inline since the thickness of the adapter with cell is a bit more than the original. In addition it would need the BAT 43 instead of the 1n5711 diode.

Before I build another one for the M5 I'm going to see if the diode can be installed internally instead of making an adapter.

On cameras/meters that I can access I place the diode inline otherwise I build the adapter.

For single battery cameras I use the 1N5711 schottky diode. If the camera/meter takes 2 batteries I use 2 BAT43 schottky diodes.
 
It looks as though UPS has lost my camera. After taking control of it from KEH it has disappeared.

When it did not arrive today as scheduled I contacted UPS. They have no idea where it is..

When I finally got hold of a live voice he was somewhat rude when I told him I expect a refund of part of the shipping cost so I asked to speak to his boss. He assured me he would do what it takes to find it.

We'll see..
 
I've found UPS much better at delivery than many of the others- I use only Fed-Ex regular (not Fed-Ex Ground) and UPS if the Post Office is out. Fingers are crossed here.

I received a phone call from UPS and was told the package was located. It never left the Atlanta Ga facility which by the way is their corp. headquarters.

UPS ground delivery has been rescheduled for next week and I was told I would not receive a partial refund of my next day air shipping. I will be contacting corp. Monday to make a formal complaint. I paid for next day air not ground...

Usually when I order from KEH I ask for Fed Ex shipping since they are more reliable at least here in the DFW area but forgot to ask for it on this order. I won't forget next time..
 
Yeah, I had a few 'reminders' before I was able to remember to specify VERY CLEARLY what shipper I wanted. Still get those idi*ts who don't understand even if you say it VERY CLEARLY and ask them to CONFIRM. I got my wife a chair from one of those giant discount places online, specified Fed Ex delivery, to be sure it was here for her birthday. Was sent by Fed-Ex ground, and was 'out on the truck' for delivery for three days, when in fact it was being held for pick-up, since the hired driver for my area doesn't like to come up here. When I complained I was told to just come pick it up. Good thing I called to confirm it was still there (1 hour away) before I left the day after her birthday to pick it up, for it had finally gotten onto the truck. It was delivered the next day.

As I said above, I have a great UPS driver who goes out of her way for us, and a great Fed-Ex driver who does the same. Took a while for Fed-Ex to catch up to UPS around here, but this new guy is tops.

DHL or Airborne are impossible around here. I had a computer repair with free 'overnight' shipping both ways that was two weeks in transit. Sat on the other side of the state for all of that time till there was enough reason to come over here.

Both Fed Ex and UPS drivers in my area are good..but Fed Ex usually delivers a ground package a day or 2 sooner than UPS ground so I prefer then when having something shipped ground.
 
Believe me I know what it it's like waiting for an item you've been drooling over only to find out it's not coming today and things are delayed. But in fairness, between the wife and I, we have hundreds of things delivered UPS a year (incoming and outgoing) with very few problems. I remember waiting on a camera from Ebay and watching daily the tracking info as it came from Chicago, to Mass. then stopped (I'm in CT). Two days later I see it has left Mass and is heading back to Chicago! Turns out the guy had re-used a box for shipping and didn't remove the old label which was on the other side. When it got to their distribution center they scanned the "other" label and was sending it back to where it came from. Funny now, maddening then, certainly not UPS' fault. I have found UPS is not the best to use for big items. Once things get heavy they seemed to get damaged more often.

The problem isn't really the delay but the fact that they are now charging me for next day air and are shipping regular ground.

I will be contacting corp headquarters Monday..
