Just ordered the M5 from KEH

Glad you found the camera.

The delivery mix up sucks. A good company would have expedited delivery not delayed delivery. "What can Brown do for you?" Screw up good.!

I got a call this morning from UPS and was told it was on the way. I then asked why tracking still showed it at the Atlanta facility. He had a rather difficult time trying to explain it so I told him I would be calling corp Monday to make a complaint. They are shipping ground when I paid for next day air..

This is the third time UPS has screwed up on a shipment to me..

The problem isn't really the delay but the fact that they are now charging me for next day air and are shipping regular ground.

I will be contacting corp headquarters Monday..
That's not right, you should get a refund.
Perhaps from KEH. UPS probably doesn't even acknowledge you as their customer in this situation. KEH should be trying to get "their" shipping money back since they didn't get the service "they" paid for. They should have more clout and an account rep who can cut through the red tape.

It helps to have a friend who is an attorney. I called this friend (Robert) who has contacted UPS officials. It looks as though I may be getting it Monday. This morning it was still in Atlanta. Now it is in Dallas and is scheduled to be sent to Fort Worth later today where it will be put on the truck for delivery.

Robert told me if I don't have it by 7:00pm Monday to let him know..

I talked to a rep at KEH yesterday who said he would also push UPS for a refund so maybe between them and Robert UPS got on the ball.

I try to avoid using UPS because of the exorbitant brokerage fees that they charge Canadians who buy items from the US. However, a few years ago I had a similar experience to yours and it was resolved easily. UPS "misplaced" a camera that I had bought. After several phone calls, they located the camera in one of their warehouses and got it to me about a week late. They refunded the entire shipping cost without giving me any grief at all. If you paid for overnight service, they should be refunding the entire cost of shipping. Good luck Colyn.

The M5 finally arrived today....at 8:30 this evening. The box was wet but the camera was well protected. KEH wrapped it in a plastic bag and then wrapped it in a couple of layers of bubble wrap.

KEH has gotten UPS to refund me the shipping cost since they screwed up..

I've gone through it and checked everything out and it looks as though it is in good working condition.

I'm taking it out tomorrow for a test drive..

Good grief... What a story! I'm glad in the end the camera came to you apparently well...

I am lucky in that the UPS guy who visits my neighborhood greets me every time I see him in the street. But then, that's no warranty of anything.

In any case, congratulations! :)

Yep. Looks very familiar. My Summicron of choice is the DR.

That body looks very nice. How did KEH rate it? Is it up to their usual conservative standards?

I traded my DR which had minor cleaning marks for the one in the photo. It has no detectable marks. Both have identical formulas.

It was rated Bgn but I feel it is in better condition. No dents or dings just some minor edge wear.

Their rating system is the best I've seen..
