Well-known
After all the point and shoot threads recently, I got a bit of GAS and picked up a Contax T2. Just arrived today and just from a purely physical and ergonomic standpoint, I'm pretty impressed. Really nicely built and the controls seem really well laid out. Actually feels a little more comfortable for my biggish hands than the Ricoh GR 1 I had for a brief time which felt a little thin. I wasn't really sure how the controls worked till I got it in hand but they make a lot of sense.
Seems like I can use it like my Leica in the zone focus/aperture priority mode. I'm anxious to give it a try. I'm sure the shutter lag will trip me up a bit a bit but for a camera to have when I don't have my Leica, it seems like a nice tool. I've always liked my Yashica T4 and they are similar but I don't need to turn off the flash every time I turn it on and I can actually control the focus and aperture if I like. Anxious to see how the lens works with black and white film. I usually find the Zeiss lenses a little more contrasty and well suited to color but we'll see. Curious if the extra control is usable or if it becomes more a point and shoot when actually using it.
The dark grey finish is really nice as well.
