After searching the posts here about this camera, and reading Raids, and others, glowing reports on these cameras I just forked out $400nz = $300us for what appears to be a very good example. A while back now I sold my Konica Auto S2 and replaced it with an Olympus 35 LC in hindsight that was a huge error, as the lens on the Auto S2 was far superior to the Olympus, for my taste and work anyway. I think I paid pretty much top dollar for it, but as I can't see any of these on e bay I have no idea really. But if it is as good as Raid and others say I'm sure I'll be happy with it. Here is a pic of the camera

That's a huge price diff between KAS2 and IIIA but if it's only manual RF one has, it's not so bad. Yet build of III-series is something worth paying for, add that buttersmooth release of III (not met on KAS series).....and price can be justified.

Have a good ligt :)

having just the one small RF camera is the way I saw it as justifying the price too, and now you mention it the release on KAS2 was clunky. Hopefully when the camera arrives it justifies the price. cheers

I hope that the camera comes to you in perfect working condition. Congrats. Its 100% VF is amazing.

thanks Raid, ever since I sold my Auto S2 I've missed the overall look and the sharpness of it's hexanon lens, so taking everything about the VF and feel people describe in the IIIa then I'm sure I'll be very happy with it.
Do you ever find yourself saying, why did I sell that camera? :)

d_ross, I haven't compared lenses of KAS2 and III (I own III with 2/48 lens not 1.8/50 like on your IIIA) but they both are great lenses beyond my skills, and III draws like Ricoh Five-One-Nine (they are of same years and league), I'd say I see III as mix of sharp and creamy, well, I'm not such a lens tester. I can't see reason why anyone using III or IIIA(M) would regret selling KAS2.

gorgeous cam. i sure do enjoy my S III, which loses hugely to yours in beauty and build contest, but which has a wonderful lens in the 47/1.9. like btgc wrote, sharp and creamy. i hope yours produces well for you.

Very pretty, and a superb lens. My brother had one decades ago, and I recall the lens as being even better than Paul's 47/1.9. I'd be astonished if he still had it, though.

Cheers,

R.
