Plus a bank account to be the official GAS fund. She knows me so well.

However, the meter is reading about 1/2 EV below one I trust. There's a crack in the dome which I suspect may be the cause. Anyone know where I could find a replacement?

Is there any way to calibrate the meter? You might be able to adjust it that way.

Not that I've been able to find.

Also, if it is the crack in the dome causing it to read low, I wouldn't be surprised if the effect of it wasn't always consistent, depending on light source and angle. 🙁

I agree with that, though it probably depends on the size and position of the crack. It might be worth seeking out a non-functioning meter to swap domes or return it to MrCad - they are usually quite good about returns.

Yeah, what I really want is a source for another dome. I wanted one of these meters for the extreme low light capability (-7 EV, nice!) This is the only I've actually found, so I'm reluctant to send it back 🙁

it's a pity because it's a really good little meter. You can still use it in reflected mode.

I intend to do lots of experimenting to see how uniform it is.

It's not that - the problem is that it's got a crack, which is more opaque than the rest of the dome. It hasn't got gaps in it, though.
