Here's 3 pics from a lunch hour wandering downtown Calgary.
Prints were scanned on a all-in-one type scanner - not the best set up, but it'll do for now.

Still learning to work quickly with the M6.

Cheers,
j

J, call me an old coot if you like, but I like horizontals to be horizontal and believe that pictures of people should not be taken with the lens aimed downwards. The picture of the unhappy little girl is good, but it might have been brilliant if these "rules" had been followed.

Its a street sho, not as if he had time to frame it perfectly! 🙂

Very nice shots! and the scans are pretty good, which scanner did you use? I am just back from lunch with M2 and 35mm skopar. I am also getting used to shooting with it, didnt quite "grow" onto my hands yet.

Payasam, there was just no time to get proper horizontals and composition of the girl. If I had to do it over again, I would have liked to 1) be at the same level she is; 2) get in a little closer; 3) compose as to get rid of that big empty space to the left. However, I think I would've lost her expression. I do appreciate your comment - thank you.

Magus, I too love bicycle shots - pls. post some...

Lubitel, I used a all in one HP 1350 fax/printer/scanner combo...

J (and Jay), I read that you were only walking past and grabbed what you could. Perhaps, though, you could have stopped and tried to take another shot or two. It's entirely possible that the litttle girl would have become aware of your presence and grinned cheesily at you, or that the grown up with her would have been angered. These things are a gamble. I'd go farther and say that all photographs of people are gambles, given that expressions can change so rapidly.
