I seem to remember a member or two using these bags, and it popped back into my memory a day or so ago.

Checking out their website, they look sweet, and at a similar price to Domke offerings.

So I went searching online to see if I could find them any cheaper, eBay had a few bags at a good discount so I jumped on one.

Originally I think it was the 5L2816 Bag I had seen a member post, so that's what I was looking at.

But when I finally found their website, I was leaning more towards the 9L08 because I really like to pack crap into my carry bags. Especially when I'm out accumulating (thrift shops).

I ended up finding a used C10L35 which seems to embody characteristics of both bags with perks of its own, being pretty small, and with carry handles.

So what do you guys think? Anyone using some of these models? Any feedback?

Maybe you'll find something you like at KakaduAustralia.com

Ill be sure to post back with my impressions when it arrives!

I had one briefly and ended up giving it to my daughter. She wore out her second one last year sometime. The bags are very well made but she somehow managed to wear holes on her hip side of the bag. Carries it everywhere. She now uses a Filson bag.

just visited the Filson website , seems to be nice bags , but prices are over the top and the website isn't very informative ...

I used one of the Kakadu bags several years ago. I added an insert, similar to the Domke inserts, and it made for a really nice bag. I downsized my equipment and eventually found it to be too big for my needs. I sold it and moved on to something else.

I highly recommend these bags. Nice looking and very durable.

One of my oldest Bags is a Kakadu. ("Doctor bag"). Maybe 15 years old or so.
I have a kaki tan one. The materials are heavy and it is very well made.
I also have a Black "satchel" style bag which i left in my Montana storage.

The bags are heavy. They are built heavy and as a result are not lightweight.
If you don't need a battle bag I would recomend you stay with other options.
For working shoots I use a Shibata as it barely adds any weight.
The Kakadu is for 2 or 4 wheeled back country trips on the bike or atv were,... I might have a compass, Camera, bear spray, knife, snacks, and maybe even a Hand Gun/Ammo loaded up.

They used to be really inexpensive options to Filson. I don;t think they are cheap anymore.

Even the relatively small "Doctors Bag" could swallow the Gaoersi 612

Heavy is good, I tend to carry a bag everywhere, Ide hope for this kind of money the bag would have a good heft and longevity in a working environment.

the C10L35 will take a run as my main bag, not an easy task... just ask my old Domke F4AF, the poor insert fell to bits last winter, the beer content of the canvas could get you drunk, or nauseous, probably both.

Now that I think about it, glad I found a black bag...

Thanks everyone for your comments!
