KEH low on stock

I have noticed this phenomenon on KEH over the past 8 months or so, particularly with the classic SLR categories. I was planning on starting this exact thread, like, a million times but always forgot...

I think someone is just having a Major GAS attack and has KEH on speed dial.

But i'm just the optimistic kind of thinker.

Chris,

Specifically I'm looking for a non HP F3 for the higher magnification. Thanks for the heads up and good luck with the sale.

Cal

The non-HP version is hard to find because they only sold the F3 with the original non-HP finder for a year or two before switching to the HP finder as standard on the F3.

Their inventory has always seemed to cycle, IMO - some weeks there are two dozen Fuji MF rangefinders, some weeks none. I think it's just a function of getting stuff from their intake warehouse, cleaning/checking, then getting it up on the site.

mebbe i've got it...
...the "digital camera thing" just isn't working out!!!!! 😀😱😀

the revolution failed and film is coming back in a REALLLLLLY big way!!!😱😛😱
now people are buying like crazy before film gear prices go back up.

rotflmao...i crack myself up sometimes (nod to dogberryjr).😀😛😀

...or mebbe it's alien abduction😕
whatever it is, it's got me shopping more at ebay than in the past.

breathe, relax and enjoy.
laugh more, smile more...i do whenever i get near a mirror.

It's a waiting game. I picked a nice Zuiko 100mm 2.8, but I had to watch the site for awhile to find one for a price I wanted.

KEH is in my bookmarks toolbar. I visit several times per week. It's like a siren's song. Rocks ahead.

I get the impression they're doing there best not to buy film stuff. You can get online quotes of what they pay and it is stunningly low. Older lenses too. I'm surprised anybody would sell them stuff at those prices and suspect it is mostly estates and the like.

It is handy when you are buying something locally to be able to look the prices up and show the seller what KEH is paying🙂

I've a theory, they are selling a ton more of their stock on ebay. For eg, they have been on ebay since 2000, they have 20,000 feedback scores but here is the kicker, they've had 1,000 feedbacks in the last month! 6,700 feedbacks in the last 6 months! And get this 10,000 in the last year! I think they have massively changed their business model....

Maybe we need to be adding the inventory on the bay with what we see on the site...cold it be that site + ebay = no change? Just'a theory??

Why are we not seeing more stock then? Why would the ebay stock be sold separately? It would be possible to have a system that tracks both sites and remove the item from the inventory if it sales on either site. With a system set up like that, then you go to their own site and bypass on other sales on ebay if you don't want to deal with sellers who may not be reputable.

Ammo is getting hard to find as well.

It's been difficult for a while...no confusion as to why, though
When they talk of banning the Nikon F3 with MD-4 motor drive and MF-4 250-Exposure Magazine Back, will film get even hard to find?
Note: I didn't call it a clip. 🙂

All very true, but I asked a rep the other day and he said they absolutely don't double list merchandise. If its on ebay it is not in the keh.com website...think my theory could hold water...but I could be wrong. Although there is no denying their sales patterns on the bay have changed....we just don't know if the increase in ebay could deplete the keh.com items....I think so....but I could be off base...
