KEH website down?

Yea, I noticed that last night and was wondering if they're doing a major renovation. I love KEH, having purchased a lens two years back, but wish all of their descriptions included serial numbers and photos. On the latter point, they have started to post some images for a few things, which is a big help.

Re: the pictures, if you mean the 360 view, those are still sample pictures, not the actual item for sale.

I tried them yesterday through several links, medium format, digital, sell your gear.. and got nothing but did notice that the blog works. And when I did that, yesterday, it kept opening a download window I had to close. Today I get "The service is unavailable." Reading above I now know why.

DoS...really? Seems strange to target KEH for a DoS attack.
Or maybe it's because they're an easy target since they're way behind the online tech curve.
Wonder if it has affected the internal system too, ie phone orders.

Well, I'm just glad my shipments got out before the weekend. 🙂
Hope they get back on their feet soon. Imagine the lost business.

Curious why three camera stores were attacked.

Here's the official word from KEH. For the two or three people on RFF who are not on the mailing list...

KEH Cyber-Attacked !! You probably already know this if you attempted to access our site but KEH Camera was the victim of a Cyber Attack this week which left our customers unable to access our site from Sunday afternoon through parts of Tuesday.

This was not an attack of the website itself, but an attack to overload the servers with incoming traffic and overwhelm them, regardless of their capacity. This is similar to the attacks on Google, Amazon and even the U.S. Government. Several other photography retailers sites were hit as well.

We apologize for this inconvenience and although this is very common in today's "web world", we are taking additional steps to ensure this can be prevented in the future.

We have a special promotion planned this weekend to help alleviate the frustration of your inconvenience. Stay tuned for an email on Friday morning to see what it is!!
