In the last 3 weeks I have placed 3 orders with KEH and in all cases have received outstanding service. I placed another order today for a 21mm Elmarit lens and fully expect to receive the same great service.
These people get my vote for excellent service... 🙂 🙂 🙂

In the past two years I have purchased two vintage Minolta SLR bodies, three lens and a lens cap for a Canon QL17 from KEH. Super service. I am looking forward to doing business with them again.

My otherwise excellent experience with KEH was marred by an awful incident described elsewhere on this forum. I have not been able to convince myself to buy from KEH after that, maybe it will pass some day.

I think you can get great service, but you need to know what to ask for, otherwise it can be hit or miss. The hits are great, but the misses are painful. There was a thread that came back where a TLR was miss labeled and what was shipped was a less expensive unit. Owner decieded to keep it as KEH said send it back and we will refund full & shipping. IMHO, they should have lowered price.

Ask for a sales person to get the equipment and call you when he/she has it in hand. Anything less is hit or miss.

KEH has an extensive selection of used 35mm SLR lenses.
The "bargain" lenses I have purchased from them have truly
been just that; very inexpensive, yet with very little wear.
These would have been graded excellent by most sellers.

Once or twice I returned items without difficulty.

Overall my experience buying from KEH has been very positive...

i think their prices are on the steeper side though
but then again, they have to run a business

really? on products that i've purchased, they've been consistently cheaper than even ebay or any other dealer. and i mean *any*.

I have the advantage that I only live 30 mi. south of their warehouse and have been able to take a camera body along to try every lens or accessory when I bought them. I have also sold gear to them and was able to sit down with their buyer and dicker. Other than wishing I had some of it back (don't most of us) I've been very satisfied. What I really miss is that 20 years ago I could go into their old place and actually walk through the warehouse and pick things out as well as just drool over stuff I'd never seen and would never be able to afford/justify buying. They routinely buy out photo stores or chains that go belly up as well as estate lots. I used to be able to go through seemingly endless boxes of odds and ends of filters, hoods, adapters, soft and hard cases and find some jewel for peanuts. Boy, were those the days! I still remember the cases of Leica gear, with the RF bodies and lenses lined up as if on parade review. I'd love to just have a picture of those equipment arrays now.

I ordered a 21mm Elmarit lens this morning and just got the UPS notification email that it would be delivered tomorrow.
As for being overpriced...sure you can probably get it cheaper on *bay but what if it is not what you expect and the seller refuses to refund you?? When it comes to high dollar glass I prefer to buy from someone with a proven track record who will exchange or refund.
I looked at other online camera shops. When they did have it it was higher than KEH..
