I don't know if this has been posted before, but Ken Rockwell has done a review of the X-Pro1:
http://www.kenrockwell.com/fuji/x-pro1.htm
Again -- it's Ken Rockwell. So take what he says with a grain of salt. And some cumin. And a bit of fresh garlic, and maybe a dash of black pepper. Mmm ... I'm getting hungry.

Funny...his place holder is the x100 review. Looks like he will just swap out what he deems relevant.

EDIT: I just realized, the review is 'under construction'. Strange that he'd post a beta-version of a review that's not even completed yet, unless he's trolling for site traffic.
I was reading it and realized that he had used 99% of the content from his review of the X100. It's assumed he'll change the content soon after he fools around with the X-Pro1 for a while.
Of course, Ken Rockwell will have his typical delusional statements, such as:
A. His authoritative tone means that he's 100% correct and any difference in opinion signifies you're an idiot.
B. The X-Pro1 is the best camera on Earth. Period. Unless you're talking about the Leica M3. Now THAT'S the best camera on Earth. Except for the Mamiya 7, which is awesome beyond belief. And then there's the Nikon D800...
C. Ken Rockwell has worked in Hollywood, done freelance for the CIA, and invented the Internet.
D. Ken Rockwell has children to feed, lots of cameras to buy, and spends countless hours updating his website. And oh yeah -- sometimes he takes pictures. Won't you please give him $5 with PayPal? If not, you're an idiot.
E. Ken Rockwell has the best headphones, battery charger, and stereo equipment. Period. You're lucky that he's reviewing these things for you. Give him $5 (see above).
I could go on -- but I'd be laughing too hard.

Well-known
bobby n you got him down. on the other hand since i returned to photography after thirty years and started over learning from scratch, overall i have found this site for rangefinders (duh), photo.net nikon forum, rockwell, bjorn rorslett, and luminous landscape the most reliable and helpful resources on the net. (equipment reviews in dpreview also reliable and helpful). For nikon, which in the slr realm is what i use more than any other system, rockwell and rorslett have been untouchable. their areas of disagreement are even informative and interesting (see Ai/AIS 85mm f/2 eg). the problem with rockwell is that he's a right wing consumer of a high order and his tone shows these faults excessively. but if he says the x pro 1 is really great, i bet it is really great. despite that super annoying tone.

" Like a Porsche, no one*needs*a Fuji X-Pro1. The Fuji X-Pro1 is a luxury for people who want another nice camera for their collection, or to use once on their next luxury vacation. The X-Pro1 is exactly like the*LEICA Minilux*or*Nikon 35Ti*in being a nice trinket for people who own other cameras.*"
I read the above and thought, wtf?

Gotta love Ken Rockwell!
Yes, I agree -- some of his reviews (especially of legacy / collector cameras) are very insightful. It's just that he takes himself so seriously sometimes...

Or Tri-polar! I'm sure it's better than plain-old 'bi-polar'. And everything Ken Rockwell does is BETTER than other people, including polarity!

Hi,
There must be some way we can get reviews banned in which people deliberately say what they think in their own words. It's not something we'd allow on RFF is it?
Regards, David

this is the guy who did a big SLR comparison and concluded that the D800 had both the best resolution and the least noise when it was obvious that this was not the case.
