What's interesting to me is what this says about the state of technology (I think).

Seems like anyone with a distribution channel might spring up with a new digital product. The technology is now effectively "off the shelf."

Is there really a market for a C mount digital P&S?
There is if it is $300 and takes weird lenses. I'm sure it is more a labor of love than a money making scheme.
I bet the Holga crowd would like this...

Not sure why they'd pick C mount of all things. No licensing fees, maybe? Anyway, with that crop factor, I suppose most of those old cine lenses become teles. Not a selling point. I think they're hoping to sell lotsa Tokina lenses along with it.

Not to forget, the telescope adaptability alone might open a sizable market.

I have a very good quality tele-converter from the 1980's with the Kenko name. I think there might have been some association with Vivitar at one time.

I have some nice Kenko filters bought for me by a friend on a trip to Japan, back about 1973.

A lot of the old cine lenses would, yes. But a lot of newer tv/video/cctv lenses, made for small sensors, would be a perfect fit. And they're an order of magnitude less expensive. It's a really interesting marketing idea for the current interest in adapting these inexpensive, f1 to f2 lenses. Really, a small sensor and small lenses is a much easier/cheaper way to do "fast" than full frame. A lot of "serious" people would hate it, but a ton of people might have a blast playing with it.

This should be great for digiscopers, birdwatchers and hobby astronomers.

It should be more than easy to adapt to spotting scopes. The small sensor is a great advantage for making most of the focal length, and you can get rid of the extra optics between eyepiece and lens.

It's a tiny sensor in it apparently - a 5.6x crop.

I have several c-mount lenses that I use on my MFT camera. I've been following the used market a little, and as someone else mentioned, a lot the lens 'heavies' made lenses in this mount, so there's quality out there. There's also the other extreme. However, *currently* it's possible to get some very fast and small/compact lenses with some reputable names stamped on them for a fraction of the cost of an equivalent lens in a different mount.
