I just took delivery of a Kipon adapter for the Kern-Macro-Switar on L39. Works wonderfully on the M240, allowing focus to 1.8 x magnification at 11 inches.

that's a very nice lens indeed! And a great advantage to the digital Ms to enable macro without a Visoflex.

Yes - It's great to get some real use out of lenses such as the Kern-Macro-Switar which I've only used very occasionally on their film bodies.

I would love to be able to use my Kodak Extra lenses on the M240, but I don't think it's possible to adapt them to the Leica M mount.

Thanks for this thread because it's reminded me that I have a Zuiko 50mm f3.5 macro in the cupboard that I'd completely forgotten about. Supposedly one of the sharpest 50mm lenses ever made.

I'll try it on my 240 at work tomorrow for a few detail pics I need to take for my employer's web site.

The 240 is ever useful with an amazing variety of lenses ... thanks again for your post. :)

Just to let everyone know there is also a Kipon Alpa to M adp. also but only on the 50mm lenses you have RF coupling which works well.
