I just got some slides back shot with a Kiev 4 and I am suspecting the top speeds are bit off. I had never expected 1/1250 sec to be spot on and I was setting the camera as if it was 1/1000 but it looks like it is more like 1/600-700 max. I tried Rick Olesons TV method but could not get any conclusive results and I do not have a real shutter speed tester. I got the camera from Oleg and it works very smoothly otherwise. So I am guessing it is not a CLA issue.
Have you tested the actual top speed of your Kievs with a shutter tester? If yes, I would like to hear the results.
