Hi!

Some days ago I used a flash for the first time with my Kiev 4A (a Metz 45 CL1).

After the first shot I realized that the syncro works properly, but the camera closes the syncro circuit a second time when I turn the shutter-cocking knob.
So the flash activates twice: one time in the right moment, and one time when I rotate the knob.

Is it normal?
What I have to do to avoid this?

Thanks!

Wind faster.

Seriously. There's nothing you can do, except wind fast enough so that your flash doesn't accumulate enough juice to discharge.

Another option is to keep deader batteries in the flash. That works too.

Do you mean that it's a normal behaviour for a Kiev 4A???

I can see the ads in some beautiful swoopy 60's typeface:

"New Advanced Soviet Camera With PRE-FLASH!"
